Custom Cabinets & Finish Carpentry

Scott’s been in the shop this week building some built in units that will complete a kitchen remodel started a few years ago.  The cabinets are made of birch plywood and solid poplar that will be spray painted by our painter.  The countertops are Mahagony that will be stain grade.

These units get installed over existing cast iron radiators, so we’re using a patterned metal for the panel on the lower doors.  We found a pattern that almost exactly matches the original detail on the original 90 year old +/- radiator covers in the rest of the house.  The upper cabinets have molding that is the same as the adjacent window and door details, and these will get coped in such that this detail is continuous around the room.

Matt’s been doing the finish carpentry on a small remodel we’ve been working on.  He’s working on installing the doors, stair treads, railing, balusters and all the miscellaneous interior wood finishes for this project.  The owners went on vacation, so we’re looking forward to them coming home to a completed project in a couple of weeks!
